Support for Communities

Malaria awareness and prevention.

The Health Workforce Foundation is committed to supporting initiatives that combat malaria, a preventable and treatable disease that impacts millions globally. In collaboration with Care Plus and the Eradicate Malaria Program, we are facilitating the distribution of printed nets sourced from twigaventures.com. The added value of a printed net ensures that the nets are used more effectively and longer for what they are made for... malaria prevention during the night.

Inadequate access to effective preventive measures contributes significantly to the spread of malaria. By providing communities with these printed nets, we aim to reduce mosquito bites during the night, when transmission is most likely. These nets not only serve a protective purpose but also raise awareness about the importance of malaria prevention.

Our partnership emphasizes delivering of printed nets and the need for educational outreach alongside net distribution, ensuring that communities understand how to properly use and maintain these protective resources. Together, we strive to make a meaningful impact on malaria prevention efforts and work towards a healthier future for all.

Diabetes, the biggest threat for Health in Africa

Today around 425 million people are suffering from Diabetes and the number is growing. 80% of the patients are living in low income countries with a mortality rate caused by Diabetes of 82,5%. In Africa 69,2 % of Diabetes is unrecognized.

Imagine you are living in a rural area. You have unknown health complaints and slowly you will die because you do not know that you are suffering from Diabetes. Besides treatment of Diabetes like insulin therapy and treatment of complications, awareness campaigns are key to prevent us from a disaster. Awareness about food, lifestyle and the disease and how to recognize. Saving lives will start there.

The Health Workforce Foundation will dedicate donations coming year to spend on trainingprograms for awareness of Diabetes in Africa.

We will train local trainers to instruct community healthworkers in diabetes awareness in the villages.
